(WashingtonDC.CityRegions.Com, November 19, 2014 ) South Riding, VA -- Thanksgiving is almost here, thus Kiserena and experts remind consumers to use a meat thermometer for a successful Thanksgiving. This special holiday generally makes people think of turkey and since people are turning to commemorate this celebration with their families, making sure foods are safe to eat is important.
So do not forget to wash hands, sink, utensils and other things that have contacted raw turkey with soap and hot water. It is also important to handle turkey properly for everyone's safety. Grill masters know that the key to have a perfectly cooked meat is getting through to just the accurate temperature. Kiserena Digital Meat Thermometer featuring a large easy-to-read LCD screen for food temperatures from -58°F to 572°F allows the user to exactly do that.
For doneness and safety, measure the internal temperature of the turkey using the thermometer. The meat has to reach at least 165°F in the thigh before taking out from the oven. After stand time, make sure that the stuffing midpoint reaches 165°F.
To determine the amount of time needed to cook a turkey, consumers should consider this timetable for thawed or fresh turkey at 325°F. Unstuffed turkey: 8 to 12 pounds, 3 hours; 14 to 18 pounds, about 3 1/2 to 4 hours; and 20 to 24 pounds, 4 1/2 to 5 hours. Stuffed turkey: 8 to 12 pounds, about 3 to 3 1/2 hours; 14 to 18 pounds, about 4 to 4 1/2 hours; and 20-24 pounds, about 4 3/4 to 5 1/2 hours. Remember, these periods are not exact and the optimal approach to tell is by means of a meat thermometer. It should reach at least 165°F in the thickest section of turkey prior to taking out from the oven.
The digital thermometer by Kiserena helps the user to prevent overcooking and to cook the food to perfection. "If you'd like to cook your turkey to a safe temperature, it's important that you use a food thermometer," says William Cheng, Kiserena spokesperson.
